Hollidaysburg, Pa., April 22, 2024 – Diefenbach has finalized the sale of an Overhead Beam Filter Press to a chemical plant in Northern Italy.
The Italian company turned to Diefenbach for a solution that would allow them to more efficiently manage the water their plant is using. After evaluating the customer’s needs, Diefenbach recommended an Overhead Beam Filter Press. The Filter Press will allow the operation to separate water from the sludge that is left behind during the Fenton process, an oxidization treatment that neutralizes pollutants in wastewater.
The Filter Press will be the last step in the process at the plant. It will allow the facility to recover clean filtrate for reuse in processing as well as dewatered solids known as filter cakes. The discharged filter cakes are drier and weigh less than unprocessed waste, allowing the operation to lower disposal costs.
“This Filter Press selection and sizing is the ideal solution for our client in Italy from the chemical sector,” said Alberto Mangili, Sales Manager. “This Filter Press was designed for their application needs, a very fast filtration and a dry cake. Each plate opens in under one minute, allowing for up to 65-70 cycles of the system per day.”
This Filter Press is complete with a robotic cloth washing device and relative tank and pump on a skid as well as a centrifugal feeding pump. The automatic robotic wash system allows for complete refreshing of the filter cloths while freeing up the operator to focus on production. It also helps to maximize the life of the filter cloths by providing a much more thorough wash than could be manually achieved.
Since 1907, Diefenbach has offered liquid-solid separation equipment for the filtration and dewatering of chemicals, food and beverages, mineral concentrates, aggregate tailings, recycled batteries and more. For more information, visit www.diefenbach.com.
