Our History
Diefenbach has a long history designing and manufacturing liquid-solid separation equipment. For more than a century, Diefenbach has been providing innovative solutions in a variety of industries and for a wide range of applications.
1907
Diefenbach was founded in Monza, Italy, by Giorgio Diefenbach, who opened a company for the production of presses used to squeeze olives.
1950s
Diefenbach focused production exclusively on filter presses capable of filtering oils and purifying industrial wastewater.
1970s
Diefenbach entered the world of mining, providing filter presses for a wide range of liquid-solid separation applications.
1978
Diefenbach launches and supplies first Overhead Beam style Filter Presses
1981
Diefenbach supplies first of many filter presses into use for Lead Acid Battery recycling. Since that time Diefenbach has supplied around 100 filter presses into Battery recycling applications including Lead Acid Batteries and Lithium batteries.
1982
Diefenbach increases presence in the Pharmaceutical sector
1983
Diefenbach supplies first filter press into Sand & Aggregates Tailings application.
1988
Diefenbach makes large expansion into the filtration of Synthetic Fibers
1995
Diefenbach supplies 2 Meter x 1.5M Overhead Beam filter press into Budapest to handle Municipal Sludge.
1999
Diefenbach supplies two filter press into a Copper Concentrate application in Chile. Following this success Diefenbach has supplied many presses into Copper, Zinc, Gold and Tin Concentrates across the world.
2002
Diefenbach supplies filter press into PAC (Poly Aluminum Chloride) application. This highly-advanced application requires special resin coating of the steel components of the Filter Press in order to prevent chemical attack.
2011
Diefenbach supplies first Overhead Beam Press with 2 Meter x 2 Meter plates into aTailings Application
2013
Diefenbach and McLanahan enter into manufacturing and supply agreement for European manufacturing of Filter Presses.
2023
Diefenbach enters into an agreement to join the McLanahan Family of Companies and expand its product offering to include industrial thickeners, which are used for liquid-solid separation. Also in 2023, Diefenbach's logo and branding was updated to the drop, highlighting the company's focus on liquid-solid separation and adding "A McLanahan Company" underneath the brand.
